Recently, Shandong Feed Industry Association released the statistical data of Shandong feed output in 2020. The total feed output was 43.358 million tons, up 14.7% year on year.

1. In terms of feed type, compound feed was 40.524 million tons, up 12.8% year on year; 1915000 tons of concentrated material, with a year-on-year growth of 80.8%; 913000 tons of additive premix, up 16% year on year.

2. From the regional perspective, the feed output of Linyi City was about 10.016 million tons, with a year-on-year growth of 28.3%; The feed output of Weifang City was 8.758 million tons, up 14.9% year on year; The two cities accounted for 23.1% and 20.2% of the province respectively. The year-on-year growth rate of output in Yantai and Dezhou was 24.6% and 23.8% respectively, while that in Dongying and Zibo was more than 30%.

3. In terms of animal species,

(1) The pig feed output was 10.295 million tons, up 42.4% year on year; Among them, sows, piglets and fatteners increased by 76.9%, 53.3% and 29.8% year on year respectively; Moreover, the pig feed will increase by more than 50% in the third and fourth quarters of 2020.

The pig feed output of Linyi and Weifang accounted for 40.3% of the province, with year-on-year growth of 60.4% and 45.8% respectively, followed by that of Liaocheng, Rizhao, Yantai and Dezhou, with year-on-year growth of 109.2%, 93.9%, 62.9% and 59.7% respectively.

(2) The output of egg and poultry feed was 3.598 million tons, up 4.1% year on year; Among them, the output of egg and poultry feed was 2.095 million tons, accounting for 58.2% of egg and poultry feed, up 9.1% year on year; the output of egg and duck feed was 1.296 million tons, accounting for 36%, down 4.9% year on year; Moreover, affected by the downturn in the market, nearly 60% of egg poultry enterprises saw their feed output decline year-on-year.

The output of egg and poultry materials in Weifang City accounted for 22.4%, up 12.9% year on year; The output of eggs and poultry in Yantai, Heze and Dezhou increased by 19.7%, 17.1% and 10.5% respectively.

(3) The output of meat and poultry feed was 26.934 million tons, an increase of 7.4% year on year, and the feed output of nearly 60% of meat and poultry enterprises decreased year on year. Linyi and Weifang were the major meat and poultry breeding cities, accounting for 44% of the province's output; There are 40 enterprises above 100000 tons in the province, accounting for 84% of the province's meat and poultry feed output;

It is worth mentioning that in 2020, meat and poultry breeding will be affected by the epidemic situation. After the Spring Festival, the meat and poultry farmers on the market will lose 1-2 batches, and each chicken and duck will lose 6-10 yuan.

(4) The output of pet feed was 168000 tons, with a year-on-year growth of 41.3%. The export was strong, with a year-on-year growth of 88.6%. Cornell's small pet feed output reached 1000 tons, an increase of 500%.

(5) The output of ruminant feed was 796,000 tons, up 11.1% year on year.

(6) The output of aquatic feed was 421000 tons, a year-on-year decrease of 7.6%, mainly due to a year-on-year decrease of 12.5% in the output of freshwater animal feed.

4. The output of bulk feed was 10.68 million tons, a year-on-year increase of 45.6%, and there were 7 enterprises with an annual output of more than 1 million tons, accounting for 49.1% of the feed in the province.

5. The output of additive products was 2.914 million tons, up 31.2% year on year; The output of amino acids increased by 45.2%, and that of vitamins, enzymes, mineral elements and microorganisms increased by 25-50%.

6. In 2020/21, the output of corn will be 26.92 million tons, the demand for feed will be 26.5 million tons, the demand for deep processing will be 22 million tons, and the gap will be about 19 million tons. The price of corn in December was 2511 yuan/ton, up 662 yuan/ton from the beginning of the year, up 35.8% in the year.

7. In 2020, the output of soybean meal will be 12.119 million tons, the provincial consumption will be 5.846 million tons, the average price of soybean meal in the first half of the year will be 2858 yuan/ton, and the average price in the second half of the year will be 3109 yuan/ton, an increase of 14% in the year.

On the whole, first of all, the rise of pig feed is the main source of feed output in Shandong in 2020, and Linyi and Weifang, which account for 40% of the province's pig feed, including the other four cities, have a year-on-year growth rate of more than 50%, or even doubled. Moreover, the 76.9% growth rate of sow feed again shows the strong recovery of pig production capacity; Secondly, under the condition that nearly 60% of poultry feed enterprises in the province have reduced production, it is not easy to maintain the small increase of poultry feed throughout the year; Moreover, the output of bulk feed, pet feed export and additives increased significantly.
