Spain's alfalfa export to China is on trial

On June 24, Zhao Zenglian, Deputy Director of the Animal and Plant Quarantine Supervision Department of the General Administration of Quality Supervision, Inspection and Quarantine of the People's Republic of China, held friendly talks with Sihuawei, Agricultural Counsellor of the Spanish Embassy in China. The two sides spoke highly of the achievements made in the field of bilateral animal and plant inspection and quarantine in recent years, exchanged candid views on strengthening cooperation in the future and reached an intentional consensus. After the talks, the two sides initialed the Protocol on Safety and Health Conditions for Alfalfa Grass Exported from Spain. According to the consensus reached by both sides, bilateral alfalfa trade can be implemented on a trial basis after the protocol is initialed. The initials of the Protocol are another result of cooperation between China and the West in the field of animal and plant inspection and quarantine, which will greatly enrich and promote bilateral agricultural trade.
